The present study was aimed at investigating attitudes toward daily lives of the third grade students in a secondary school, based on the data from Kuze and Goto (1982). For 1272 students (655 males and 617 females) living in Nagoya City, a questionnaire concerning to educational course selections, interests and worries in daily lives, and the degree of satisfaction with school was given. The main results were as follows: (1) Students were highly concerned with "the entrance exam", "hobbies" and "friends", but they were indifferent to "the school events" and "the student council". (2) The 65.8% of the students felt some worries, and a significant sex difference was found in the ratio of being worried: females worrying more than males. (3) Students were satisfied with school lives as a whole, especially with "friends", "teachers" and "an atmosphere of the school and classroom". (4) Many students frequently talked with their friends about "teachers or friends", "the entrance exam", "studying or achievement" and "popular singers or sports". "Political, economical and social affairs" were too hard to be topics of conversation with friends. (5) Many students wanted to decide "future occupation", "club activities", "a way of spending holidays" and "interaction with opposite sex" for themselves. On the other hand, for determination of "educational course selections" and "high school to take an exam", students who conformed themselves to their teachers were more than students who wanted to decide by themselves. Another analysis concerning worries suggested that in comparison with the students whose worries are related to educational course selections and the students without worries, the students whose worries were unrelated to educational course selections had more heterogeneous attitudes toward daily lives.
