The present article reviews research on teacher burnout, and then explores “crisis and support in the student guidance and counsel that a junior high school teacher faces.” Three perspectives that are necessary for further research work are suggested: (1) Qualitative approaches should be adopted, analyzing “crisis in the human relationships,” “factors out of the workplaces” and “growth of the teachers forced by the crisis” in various angles ; (2) Focusing especially on a crisis in the student guidance and counsel is indispensable because the process of the teacher growth, such as what crisis the teacher faces, how he/she recognizes it, how he/she deals with it should be investigated ; (3) In a support study, the process of recovery and overcome from the crisis should be researched and an effective content and timing of support, cognitive transformation of the teacher should be clarified. These three perspectives help us to find out how to prevent burnout and they also promote the carrier development of the student guidance and counsel.
