This article aims to examine how the extracurricular activities in university lives are evaluated in the working adults’ lives, that is, the relevance of the extracurricular activities with the working adults’ lives. The subjects were asked to list what they did in the extracurricular activities during university years and chose what in the list they think most beneficial for their working adults’ lives. As the result, 237 of 614 subjects chose “long-term part time job” with the duration of 1 year or more. First, the result does not only indicate that experiences of long-term part time job is beneficial for working adults’ life but also exposes the reality of the university students these days who are forced to do a long-term part time job. That is, the result is related to various challenges the current university students face including decreased incomes of their parents, hike in tuition fees, student loans with interests, jobhunting via the internet, etc. Next, examination of the aspect of “club/circle activities” revealed that the respondents were classified into 2 major groups, since of the subjects (410 people) belonging to “club/circle activities”, the same number of respondents (142 each) put the highest value to “long-term part time job” and “club/circle activities”. This implies that the value of “club/circle activities” as extracurricular activities could change in the future from the conventional value. As described above, this article has revealed that “long-term part time job” is the most beneficial extracurricular activities during university years for the working adults’ lives. Classifying “part time jobs” which had been correctively known into long-term and short-term part time jobs allowed investigations of the current status of university students and its factors which had been hard to see. This study, however, failed to detail how specific working adults’ lives were benefited by experience of “long-term part time job”. This will need to be clarified in the future studies.
