This study examined the difference of writers' attitudes between students studying science or technology and those studying humanities. 349 undergraduate students (160 males studying science or technology, 59 males studying humanities, 45 females studying science or technology and 85 females studying humanities, mean age=18.4) participated in this study. They were asked to answer 54 items with five-point scale (1 : strongly disagree, 2 : somewhat disagree, 3 : neither agree nor disagree, 4 : somewhat agree, 5 : strongly agree). Four factors emerged from both types of students (science or technology and humanities) : easiness to inform, easiness of the structure of the whole sentences, readers' interests, and easiness of words and phrases in the text. However, item 9,14 & 16 belonged to the different factors between both of them. Considering all of the results, it is indicated that students in science or technology might have an attitude of "writing in precise", even if they do not consider readers' interests so much. In the case of students in humanities, on the other hand, they might consider "preciseness of the text" as a part of readers' interests.
