quench inception
normal zane propagation
In this paper, highly time-resolved and highly sensitive measurcmcnts of qiiench phenomena in ac supcrcunducting wires enallled IIS to invcstigatc the propagation cliaractcristics nf normnl mne at the quench inception. Experimental rcsults revenled that the trrnricnt propagation vclocity of normal mne reached 90km/sec at 6 p e c nftcr thc quench-onsct of the noli-insulated NbTilCuNi superconductin& wircs. Furthermorc, tlierr could exist an intrinvic lengthof about IOOpm ?t qucncli inception and propagation under thc criterion of 3,311Vlcm Cor IIC wires.
