The family support program was started in 2003 by the Aichi chapter of The Alzheimer’s Association of Japan. The program intends to empower the care-givers whose family member is at the comparatively early stage of dementia. The program is held once a month for half a year. It consists of the lecture and care-givers free discussion. The program aims to derive the potential power in care-givers as well as to acquire the proper knowledge about dementia. The purpose of this research is to report the constitution and the activity of this program, and to inspect its effects from the viewpoint of psycho- education for dementia. Based on components required by psycho-education of dementia, the contents of each lecture and the impression of the participants were inspected. As a result, the program showed a certain function as psycho-education in dementia.
