As is shown in a previons paper, the phase-frequency spectrum analysed from waveforms represents rather clearly the effect of propagation distance. The present paper is a detailed description of the recent results yielding the preliminary conclusions published earlier. The author studied the problem in terms of the inclination of phase frequency spectrum curve, and the mean values of both the tangent to the curve at 6 kc/s and the inclination of a rough linear portion between 8 and 14 kc/s were employed. A rough linear correlation between the mean value of the inclination of the tangent to the phase-frequency curve and the traversed distance from origin was found on the basis of the analysed 35 smooth daytime-type waveforms.
