 note = {People in different societies and different economics, political environments perceive and evaluate risks of large and complex projects in significantly distinctive ways. This paper identifies what practitioners in Mongolia consider to be the most serious mining project risks and actions used for managing these risks. Risk management action used by project managers was investigated through a questionnaire. The paper provides a simple mining project process flow chart which will help practitioners understand the process visually. Furthermore, the research indicates a limited application of various analytical techniques available for risk assessment in the Mongolian mining industry.},
