Acceptance tests of its performance on carbon isotope measurements were completed in January of 1999, and routine measurements began in mid-2OOO. Since completion of the acceptance tests in early 1999, we have encountered a lot of troubles with the machine, particularly in 2002. Since the end of 2002, the machine has worked relatively well, expect for minor problems. The standard deviation (one sigma) of the ^<14>C/^<12>C ratio is around ±0.3% to ±0.4% (a bit larger than the uncertainty of about ±0.3% calculated from ^<14>C counting statistics) and that of the corresponding ^<13>C/^<12>C ratio is ±0.03% to ±0.07%, as are tested for HOx2 targets. The number of targets measured was 330, 1430, 2077, 1003, 1,979, 1679, 1771, 1115, 1339, 866 and 1300 in each year from 1999 to 2009, respectively, and total number of target measured is 14890. Since November 1^st 2007, we had a scheduled shutdown of the AMS system, to improve the strength of the building, Furukawa Memorial Hall, against an outbreak of large scale earthquakes expected in the near future around Tokai area, central Japan. After completion of the repair, in June of 2008, we restarted ^<14>C measurements, in encountering again similar kinds of troubles as we had experienced before. An overhaul of the AMS system was performed by an engineer from HVEE in October of 2008. In 2009, we have encountered two kinds of malfunction in generating high voltage. One was a fault of a power supply system that outputs stable DC 24V to the circuit boards for the control of high voltage of the 3MV accelerator. The other was a breakdown of a Zener diode assembly that protects damage on the control circuit system of the 3MV high voltage power supply from accidental high-voltage sparks. In both cases. we wasted away about two months to obtain the new spare parts to substitute the defective ones.
