In this paper, we revealed the relationship between the fillers appeared in simultaneous interpreter's utterances and listener impressions on the interpretation by conducting experiments on subjects. Results of experiment analysis indicated that according to our observation on fillers appeared in three positions such as the head, the middle and the end of a unit of interpreter’s utterances, the more frequently fillers appeared in the middle of the said utterances, the more unfavorable listeners’ evaluation of its interpretation became. In comparing simultaneous interpreter's utterances with ordinary speech for the purpose of defining the characteristics of fillers of simultaneous interpretation, it also became clear that fillers appeared more frequently in simultaneous interpreter’s utterances than they appeared in ordinary speech. All those results suggest that fillers appeared in the middle of interpreter’s utterances must have provided one of the reasons why listener impressions received from simultaneous interpreter's utterances differ from those received from ordinary speech.}, pages = {39--49}, title = {英日同時通訳者発話におけるフィラーの出現と聴きやすさとの関係}, year = {2007} }
