| 内容記述 | This paper considers a random-matching model with two currencies in which monies are divisible and shows that there exists at least a two-dimensional continuum of stationary equilibria in which both currencies are adopted. For this purpose, the paper first constructs an auxiliary model in which monies are indivisible and individuals can hold up to one unit of good or one unit of either of the currencies, and observes that, given the nominal money supplies in the two currencies, there exists a unique equilibrium with two currencies in circulation. Next the paper turns to a model in which monies are divisible and individuals can hold arbitrary numbers of good and currencies but have to decide. at the beginning of each period, whether to behave as sellers or as buyers and, if they decide to behave as sellers, also have to decide in which currency and on which terms to make an offer. The paper then confirms that the latter model has stationary equilibria similar to the equilibrium of the former model except that the real money supplies in the two currencies cannot be determined. | |||||
