Life theme is a task that one works on in one’s vocational or other life contexts. A life history questionnaire was administered to a retired teacher who could recount her life history, and her “self-narration” was examined. Applying the life history approach to the first interview, episodes were diagramed on the basis of the teacher’s narration, and her life history I was developed. In the second interview, episodes in her life history I were re-examined and her life history II was developed. Finally, the teacher’s complete life history was developed. The results are as follows: 1) The teacher had 13 life themes, two of which were hard-core themes and the remaining were themes related to the hard-core themes, 2) The life themes were closely related to the teacher’s family and were influenced by her personality traits, life events, and sociocultural background, 3) The life themes influenced each other and it was found that life themes have a significant impact on a teacher’s career development.}, pages = {25--33}, title = {教師のライフテーマとキャリア発達 : ライフヒストリー・アプローチによる事例分析}, volume = {58}, year = {2012} }
