The Vietnam-China CBT grew strong after it had been legalized at the eng of the 80's. In the background of closer political and economic relation to China, the CBT with China has been discussed a lot in Vietnam. The major concern is how to develop Vietnam-China trade, especially how to increase export to China; however the reason why the Vietnam-China CBT has developed still remains unexplained. On the other hand, the Vietnam-Cambodia CBT is much less paid to attention, while the trade also has grown up considerably for the last decade. The aims of this paper are : First, outline the CBT policy of Vietnam. Second, discuss the background of the legalization and development of the CBT with China and Cambodia.
