It will take as a case study migrant workers who work in the manufacturing industry in the Pearl River Delta. The Chinese special household registration system, which is an important cause of wage discrimination, will be analyzed by using data from field surveys conducted by the author. There are three objectives of this paper. The first is to show the current situation of manufacturing migrant workers in China. The second objective is to ascertain the factors that influence wage decisions; the Mincer equation and Blinder-Oaxaca decomposition will be used to test the effect of the Hukou status.
