@article{oai:nagoya.repo.nii.ac.jp:00015287, author = {金, 昌男 and KIM, Chang-Nam}, issue = {2}, journal = {経済科学}, month = {Dec}, note = {This paper examines how rural-urban migration of labor force affected the agricultural development in the process of industrialization of Korea from the early 1960s to the early 2000s. The results of the analysis indicated that there was a series of migrations of the rural labor-force to urban areas that continuously increased the farm wages during the process of industrialization in Korea. Moreover, the increase in food demands in urban areas caused a rise in land price. However, the industrial sector supplied an ample amount of cheaper input goods, such as fertilizers and farm machinery, for farming. In response to the changes in factor prices, farmers adopted a production system that invested a large amount of cheaper chemical fertilizers and farm machinery. The adoption of such system led to increase in land and labor productivities, and a continuous growth in farm household income that further resulted in decrease in income disparity between rural and urban areas. In summary, the agricultural sector in Korea successively adopted land- and labor-saving technologies with respect to the rapid change in factor prices. This consequently contributed to alleviating the disparity in the income distribution between rural and urban areas.}, pages = {65--82}, title = {韓国の労働移動と農業発展}, volume = {60}, year = {2012} }
