With 9 Learning Disorder children as subjects, letter search task was employed. In the experiment, words or nonwords written in hiragana were presented on a CRT display. Subjects were asked to press the corresponding key whether there was target character (vowel characters : \"あ\", \"い\", \"う\", \"え\", or \"お\") in the displayed letter strings. The global trend of our data shows word superiority effect on letter search task, it means that letters in words were detect faster than letters in nonwords. However the data from a subject (a 9years old boy with severe Reading and Writing Problems) did not show the word superiority effect.
