 note = {The purpose of this study was to examine the reasons why Chinese students are less adaptive to the life in Japan than the students from other countries. The major characteristics of Chinese students in Japan were as follows : (1) the motivation or purposes of studying in Japan is complex and therefore their purposes are less achieved than those of the students from other countries; (2) since almost all of the Chinese students have financial problems and have to do part-time jobs in order to make their living. The discriminative treatments they have received there could make negative images of Japan; (3) Chinese students tend not to have enough communication with Japanese students.
