Nowadays many universities in Japan try to become internationalized and globallyoriented, but there are various problems that still need to be tackled and they differ depending on each university. As each university faces challenges of its own, finding out issues shared by its staff and faculty in a university is necessary before new policies for internationalization are implemented. One of the results showed that most of faculty members have positive attitudes toward plans for internationalization, but their attitudes were different depending on how much international contact they would be involved with. Besides, if they have interest in studying foreign languages and going overseas for future study and try to have a good relationship with foreigners in Japan, then, they have a favorable attitude to internationalization, otherwise, they do not. The writer concluded that each university needs to enhance the awareness of its faculty members by introducing some study programs to better understand different cultures and foreign languages in order to promote internationalization policies.}, pages = {65--77}, title = {大学の国際化への対応を目指して : 地方私立大学での教員・職員の国際化に関する意識調査からの一考察}, volume = {43}, year = {2013} }
