Most entrepreneurs who are engaged in platform businesses are interested in ways to form the platform and to profit from the business. To answer their expectation, this paper described a detail developing process of one matching website for architects and its operating firm. As a result of this case study, we found that there were three effective means to form the platform business. Specifically the user group selection, the entrance barriers removal, and the active publicity design performed an important role in the platform formation process.
