The following results were obtained. 1) Rats in the high fat diet group increased greatest body weight among the three groups, 400 g on the 200th day, and thereafter, continued to be obese. 2) Glucose tolerance curves and insulin sensitivity tests demonstrated significantly impaired carbohydrate metabolism of rats in the high fat diet group. 3) The decrease of glucose utilization and the increase of gluconeogenesis were observed in the tested liver slices of rats in the high fat diet group. 4) Glucose utilization and insulin sensitivity of adipose tissues and diaphragms of rats in the high fat diet group were significantly reduced compared to other groups. 5) The addition of papain in the medium reduced the incorporation of glucose-U-C14 into CO2 of diaphragms of rats in high fat diet group and normal diet group but in the case of adipose tissues, although increased incorporation of radioactivity was observed in normal diet group, decreased incorporation was apparent on high fat diet group suggesting the presence of some different membrane structure of adipose tissue in high fat diet group. 6) In the pancreases of rats in the high fat diet group, hypertrophy of Langerhan's island and fibrosis of the exocrine glands were observed at the same time with the high level of insulin content of the pancreases. From the above results the author concluded that the disorder in the carbohydrate metabolism of rats in the high fat diet group resembles the metabolic disarrangement of maturity onset type of human diabetes mellitus. The phenomenon can be comprehensive as an adaptation to the increased oxidation of fatty acids and the metabolic changes due to the accumulated lipid at the adipose tissue, and it is also partly consistent with Randle's theory on glucose-fatty acid cycle. The results suggest that high rate of fat in diet can aggrevate carbohydrate metabolism in rat as well as in the human being.","subitem_description_language":"en","subitem_description_type":"Abstract"}]},"item_9_identifier_registration":{"attribute_name":"ID登録","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_identifier_reg_text":"10.18999/nagjms.32.2.261","subitem_identifier_reg_type":"JaLC"}]},"item_9_publisher_32":{"attribute_name":"出版者","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Nagoya University School of Medicine","subitem_publisher_language":"en"}]},"item_9_relation_43":{"attribute_name":"関連情報","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type":"isVersionOf","subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"http://www.med.nagoya-u.ac.jp/medlib/nagoya_j_med_sci/322/322.html ","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_9_select_15":{"attribute_name":"著者版フラグ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_select_item":"publisher"}]},"item_9_source_id_61":{"attribute_name":"ISSN(Online)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2186-3326","subitem_source_identifier_type":"EISSN"}]},"item_9_source_id_7":{"attribute_name":"ISSN(print)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"0027-7622","subitem_source_identifier_type":"PISSN"}]},"item_access_right":{"attribute_name":"アクセス権","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_access_right":"open access","subitem_access_right_uri":"http://purl.org/coar/access_right/c_abf2"}]},"item_creator":{"attribute_name":"著者","attribute_type":"creator","attribute_value_mlt":[{"creatorNames":[{"creatorName":"KATSUMATA, KAZUO","creatorNameLang":"en"}],"nameIdentifiers":[{"nameIdentifier":"98572","nameIdentifierScheme":"WEKO"}]}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2018-02-20"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"v32n2p261_280.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"2.7 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_note","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"v32n2p261_280.pdf","objectType":"fulltext","url":"https://nagoya.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/16591/files/v32n2p261_280.pdf"},"version_id":"db812081-e5b2-4ed7-810f-ef3c5cc2df0b"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"departmental bulletin paper","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Studies on the Diabetic State of Rats Fed a High Fat Diet for 400 Days : A Postulated Mechanism of Disturbed Carbohydrate Metabolism","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Studies on the Diabetic State of Rats Fed a High Fat Diet for 400 Days : A Postulated Mechanism of Disturbed Carbohydrate Metabolism","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"9","owner":"17","path":["1514"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"PubDate","attribute_value":"2013-10-04"},"publish_date":"2013-10-04","publish_status":"0","recid":"16591","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Studies on the Diabetic State of Rats Fed a High Fat Diet for 400 Days : A Postulated Mechanism of Disturbed Carbohydrate Metabolism"],"weko_creator_id":"17","weko_shared_id":-1},"updated":"2023-11-16T05:29:11.786526+00:00"}
