@article{oai:nagoya.repo.nii.ac.jp:00017027, author = {浅見, 沙矢香 and ASAMI, Sayaka}, issue = {3}, journal = {医学図書館}, month = {Sep}, note = {This article reports on the disposal of print journals at Nagoya University Medical Library in 2012. Because of increases in the collection, the Nagoya University Medical Library had exceeded its floor weight limitations for many years. In addition, users now prefer electric journals to printed journals, as shown by the results of a survey conducted in 2011. Under these circumstances, 17900 volumes of bound journals (462 titles) were discarded and 850 shelves were emptied in December 2012. The disposal of print journals appears to be an effective means of reducing floor weight, which can lead to the rearrangement of collections. The disposed volumes were restricted to those with electronic versions and perpetual access rights. Access routes to the electronic journals for authorized users were confirmed, as was the ability of the librar y to fulfill requests from other institutions for interlibrary loans. A disposal list was then made according to the list of back files that had been purchased and the electronic journals to which the library had subscribed. For journals with titles that had been changed, the previous titles as well as the current titles are often included in the electronic journals. Such previous titles were selected and added to the disposal list. The list included 54 titles that had been purchased by laboratory budgets; of these titles, 19 were removed from the disposal list at the request of a laboratory.}, pages = {313--317}, title = {名古屋大学附属図書館医学部分館における外国雑誌の廃棄について}, volume = {60}, year = {2013} }
