内容記述 In January, 2011, the Japanese Central Council for Education announced its expectations for "basic general-purpose abilities for compulsory education" in "4 domains and 8 abilities." In this paper I compared the career consciousness and adaptation perceptions of 5th and 6th grade of elementary school students with first year students of junior high school. I found a positive correlation between career consciousness and adaptation perceptions, with a decrease in the scores of career consciousness and adaptation perceptions from the period of March of 5th grader to March of the first year of junior high school. In addition, I also found a significantly lower standard score of career consciousness and adaptation perceptions depending on grade level and gender. In three domains of career consciousness and two domains of adaptation perception regarding grade and gender differences, no significant differences were found regarding "the human relations formation" of the career consciousness and "self-affirmation" and "a feeling of learning effect" of the adaptation perceptions. Analyzing the findings of three domains I found no significance in regard to gender in respect to new "human relations formation, social formation ability," and "self-understanding, self-discipline." This was also found to be true for the "ability for career planning" and "the ability for problem solving." This research suggests the necessity to continue to study the guidance of career education and to explore methods for assessment beyond the questionnaire method.
