Recently, the catalytic combustion is applied to treat the purge gas including hydrogen from fuel cell equipment, because hydrogen gas is very dangerous when it is accumulated in the enclosed space. The measurement of the physical quantity in the honeycomb, which is commonly used for catalytic combustion, is very difficult, because it is assembled with a lot of millimeter-sized channels. So, it is necessary to investigate by the numerical simulation and to understand the phenomenon in the honeycomb. We have carried out the numerical study on the catalytic combustion of platinum catalyst in a channel using detailed chemical kinetics for H2-air combustion gas and platinum catalytic surface. Then, the details of catalytic combustion in a channel, such as temperature, mass fraction in the gas phase, surface temperature, coverage at the catalyst and reaction rate of the elementary reaction are obtained.
