Such electrical insulation characteristics under thermal/electrical combined stress can be referred to as the “quenchinduced PD characteristics” of HTS cables, which should be taken into account for the reliable insulation design of HTS cables. Experimental results using coaxial HTS cable samples revealed that the quench-induced PD could be generated, even under the intrinsic or static PD inception voltage (PDIVsta) without the quench. The criteria of the thermal/electrical combined stress level for quench-induced PD inception were quantified for different LN2 pressures and fault durations under sub-cooled condition., 8th European Conference on Applied Superconductivity, EUCAS 2007, September 16-20, 2007, Brussels, Belgium}, pages = {012053--012053}, title = {Quench-induced Partial Discharge Characteristics of HTS Cables}, volume = {97}, year = {2008} }
