This paper reports the result of a study on the classification of near-duplicate video clips according to their appearance patterns, for the structuring of various genres of broadcast videos in one framework. As a result of an experiment applied to 1,000 hours of videos, 3.6 million pairs of near-duplicate video clips were detected, and grouped into 40,000 clusters.
