It has,however,the defect to be unable to find the distant origins accurately, because the directions of arrival of atmospherics measured at two stations become parallel to each other, and we can hardly determine either the source position itself or the sense of the arriving direction. Recently some authors reported direction finders of unidirectional type,in which it was rather difficult to keep the accuracy obtained by the bilateral type, and yet it is very important to have the excellent accuracy compatible with unidirectional characteristics. To satisfy this requirement we devised a new system,which was characterised by adding a sense amplifier to the conventional twin channel amplifiers. Being connected to a vertical antenna of 5 m length,the sense amplifier has completely identical characteristics with that of twin channel amplifiers and its output can be put to brilliance modulation amplifier. The incoming signal is rectified by a half wave rectifier and then transformed from a damped sine wave into a square wave. The output of brilliance modulation amplifier is applied to the grid of cathode ray tube so as to get the image on the screen to be extinguished for every half cycle. Through the application of these technics the requirement mentioned above has just been completely satisfied in our unidirectional direction finder.}, pages = {99--103}, title = {空電方位測定機の單方向受信}, volume = {2}, year = {1952} }
