Assuming the distinction between positive objects and quantified objects, it is shown by the investigation based on an OE corpus that quantified objects can appear before vP/VP adverbs, but not before discourse/temporal adverbs, while positive objects can precede both types of adverbs. Then, it is argued that quantified objects and positive objects move to [Spec, Foc(us)P] and [Spec, Top(ic)P], respectively, in the left periphery of the vP domain where Foc is sandwiched between two instances of Top.
