Four short whistlers most suitable for this purpose are analysed, which were observed at Toyokawa and Wakkanai stations all on different dates. For they are pure and fairly well defined down to frequencies lower than 1,000 c/sec. and one of them is preceded by tweek type atmospheric click, which make the location of time origin easier. The electron density used by Storey is too small to produce the dispersions observed, so different distributions of electron density are assumed so as to satisfy the dispersions observed. From these distributions two complete dispersion curves are calculated each for the case of Toyokawa and Wakkanai. The dispersions measured from whistler traces agreed fairly well with the theoretical curves. From this result the presence of ionized hydrogen in the outer atmosphere is strongly supported.
