This atmospherics waveform recorder was designed from the preceding standpoint of view, and the record obtained from this apparatus faithfully displays the electrical field change radiated from the lightning flash within 100 km. or more from the station. As for the fundamental principle of this apparatus, it is constructed on the same idea as those waveform recorders, which were reported in previous bulletins of our Institute. The voltage variation induced by aerial is amplified through the amplifier with wide band frequency response and then led to two C.R.T. The time axis in each C.R.T. is triggered by the receiving atmospherics and the times of their sweeps are 2 ms and 20, 60 ms respectively. The fine structure of the wave form can be reproduced in the former case and the whole aspect of it can be reproduced in the latter case on respective C.R.T. screans and recorded on respective 35 mm films.
