The author discribes the diurnal and seasonal variations in whistler observations as follows 1. Whistlers are mainly found at night, showing maximum occurrence at 3-4 hours before local sunrise and after local sunset. 2. General seasonal variations are explained by thunderstorms in the distances less than 500 km from the observatory or from its conjugate point in the other hemisphere. 3.
