Subjects were 19 mothers of autistic cnildren who had been experienced individual therapy or group therapy during 18-45 months. Questionnair was used. Main results were as follows : (1) The abnormalities of the most children were recognlzed during 2-4 years old by mothers according not to their ritualistic and compulsive phenomena, but to the disturbance of communication; distarbance in the language development and the human relations. (2) When the child was diagnosed as "autism", most of the mothers felt some kinds of psychological shock which based upon their obligations for the child, ro anxieties for rearing and the prognosis of autism. But abount two thirds of the mothers also made up their striving frame for the problems. (3) Since their child recieved the diagnosis "autism", 89.5% of the mothers had been experienced a lot of insecurity based on the school factors, possibility of their child's entrance to the pre-school and the elementaly school, maladjustment at the school and academic performance etc., and anxiety for rearing their child. (4) Only 26.3% of the mothers reached nearly our therapeutic goal; rearing their child with security and accept his own development. And the rest showed strong insecurity or owed to teach their child something or to compare with normal child disregarding his own development. (5) The children's changes in the aspect of the language. understanding the emotion of mother, and the activity level were well noticed by mothers, but ritualistic and compulsive phenomena were not noticed well. (6) The cognitions of the mothers on the changes of their child were related slightly to their own changes in therapeutic process. (7) The mothers' neighborhood relatonships were not shut up. but a third of them had the relationships for the sake of the neighbors' understanding their child.
