The same phenomena has been reported by Dr. Kimpara at the time of the former nuclear explosion on Aug. 12, 1958. The former explosion has been held at an altitude of about 100-200 km and the abnormal phenomena on the intensity of atmospherics has been observed about 10 minuts later than the time of explosion. However, the explosion of this time was held at an altitude of about 400-600 km and the abnormal phenomena on the intensity of atmospherics was observed at the same time of the explosion. It is now generally accepted that SEA occurs by the disturbances in the D region at the time of solar flare. However, the sun of the day is quite quiet, but the aspect of the recordings was similar to SEA, and what is more, it starts simultaneously at the time of explosion. Hence, it may be considered that this abnormal phenomena is occured by the disturbances in the ionosphere due to the high altitude nuclear explosion. Then,  this abnormal phenomena is named \u0027SEA Effects associated with the High Altitude Nuclear Explosion\u0027 by the author. Applying the wave-guide mode theory to the observing results, the author estimated the extent of disturbances in the lower ionosphere. 内容記述 The abnormal phenomena associated with the high altitude nuclear explosion at Johnston Is. on July 9, 1962 was observed on the records of the intensity of atmospherics at Toyokawa (the Research Institute of Atmospherics, Nagoya Univ.) in Japan.
