The questionnaire for the investigations is consisted of two parts. In the first part, there are twenty-one items representing seven difficult situations : (1) home and family situations, (2) physical feature and personal character, (3) academic achievevement, (4) friend relationship, (5) school life and teacher, (6) educational and vocational future, and (7) philosophy of life and religion. The subjects are requested to check one of three degrees (0,1 or 2) of self-disclosure to father, mother, brothers and sisters, friends and teachers for each item. In the second part, there are twenty-one items representing seven difficult situations mentiond above. The subjects are requested to check one of five degrees (0,1,2,3,or 4) of perceived reliance on father, mother, brothers and sisters, friends and teachers for each item. The subjects were 169 high school boys and 164 girls, and 194 college males and 201 females in Nagoya City. The investigation was conducted in September of 1971 for college, and in February and March of 1972 for high school. The results of the investigation are as follows : (1) The more highly the subjects perceive their parental reliance, the more they disclose themselves to their parents in all seven difficult situations (Table 6,7,8,9). (2) The more highly the subjects perceive their reliance on friends, the more they disclose themselves to their friends (Table 10,11). This is the case also in college students (Table 12).
