Its diurnal variation displayed clear effects of sun-rise and sun-set. The sudden enhancements in the crossing rate, observed in the SID's, occurred in 1965. The behavior of enhancements of crossing rate is explained with relations to the properties of discharges in the source, the wave propagation and the location of the source.
