Assuming these increases were additional, the increment of both surface and deep soil have δ13C of -23‰, which were 2-4‰ higher than C02 generated under continuously moistened condition. Physical destruction of soil aggregates arose change in δ13C of generated CO2 that was similar to the drying and re-moistening treatment of soil.
