For the ions below 25 km, ionic conductivity and density were measured roughly to be 4.0×10^-12 mho/m and 2×10^9 inos/m^3 respectively, indicating that they were small ions. In the altitudes roughly from 30 to 55 km the ionic conductivity profile measured with our Gerdien condenser was found widely depart from the profile expected from a small ion model in the upper atmosphere. Despite seemingly too small mobility values estimated of these ions, which are comparable with those of intermediate ions, the result of our preliminary experiment can be thought to indicate the existence of ions, which are not small ions, in the upper atmosphere in altitudes from 30 to 55 km.}, pages = {29--41}, title = {PRELIMINARY EXPERIMENT OF ATMOSPHERIC ION MEASUREMENT IN THE TRANSITIONAL REGION OF THE ATMOSPHERE}, volume = {15}, year = {1968} }
