This study shows process of utilizing corporate museums as tourism resources of industrial tourism in Aichi prefecture by case study. First, it was clarified how “Industry” was found as a tourism resource in the region, was taken up as a national policy, and penetrated into local government policies and corporate museums. As a result of the tourism producer’s “Tourism Gaze” being directed, the corporate museum was “created (corrected)” as a “Tourism Place”. In the process, the industrial place, such as factory, was transformed into a heritage site due to changes in the industrial structure and society. It was shown to contribute to the construction and maintenance of the “Local Identity” (Urry, Larsen 2014). It is also found that the contribution of corporate museum activities to society is to contribute to the construction of a regional identity, and to function not only as a tourism resource, but also as a cultural resource and a local educational facility. The key for“ Museum and Tourism” is to clarify how the region and the museum have mutual recognition.
