It is the unifying principle underlying biological diversity. Through biochemistry, we learn microscopic processes such as protein phosphorylation that regulates many signaling cascades in the cells. We also learn macroscopic processes such as evolutionarily conservation of a protein family which works similarly from bacteria to humans. This course covers thermodynamics of a system, building blocks of principle biomolecules such as DNA and proteins, and the relationship between their structures and functions. Together, we aim to understand the mechanisms of action of the biomolecules, which allows an organism to live.}, title = {Biochemistry I}, year = {2020} }
