Especially beginning with the literary revolution led by Liang Qichao, the translation of foreign novels has gradually attracted attention. A large number of foreign novels have been translated and introduced to China. Due to the port opening, the establishment of the contribution fee system, and the development of printing technology, the number of publishing houses in Shanghai has increased dramatically, and the rapid development of novel translation has become a core of translated novel publishing. Eastern Times publishing house is one of the publishing houses that actively translates foreign novels. Di Baoxian who founded the publishing house under Kang Youwei and Liang Qichao ’s instructions. The publishing house not only serializes translated novels through publications, but also publishes offprints of translated novels. This article uses the translated novel " Nvxuesheng Lvxingji " published by publishing house and the novel "Oshi No Ryoko" of Tetcho Suehiro mentioned in the advertisement of the novel as a clue to investigate the reasons why the editors of the publishing house continue to pay attention to the novel "Oshi No Ryoko". First of all, through investigation, we know that other works of Suehiro have been translated and introduced to China before "Oshi No Ryoko", which means that Suehiro's works have already gained a certain degree of recognition in China. Secondly, the editors of the Eastern Times publishing house are familiar with the "Oshi No Ryoko" and are concerned about the Chinese translation of the "Oshi No Ryoko". This makes it possible for "Oshi No Ryoko" to be mentioned in the publications of the Eastern Times publishing house. Finally, by comparing the original text of the novel "Oshi No Ryoko" and the Chinese translation, it can be seen that Chinese intellectuals want to explore the development path of their country through the translation of this work. In addition, judging from the fact that the translators in the Chinese translation have added the description of China, the conflict between traditional literati thoughts and Western culture may have aroused the resonance of the editors of the Eastern Times publishing house, so the novel "Oshi No Ryoko" is mentioned in the publication.}, pages = {217--234}, title = {末広鉄腸『啞の旅行』に関する一考察 : 中国語訳『啞旅行』との比較を中心に}, volume = {4}, year = {2021} }
