We develop a search-matching model with labor market segmentation and multi-factor production to find the condition under which the new technology harms the labor market. For technology optimism, the elasticity of substitution between routine labor input and robots must be less than 2.5. The robotics revolution hits the labor market for routinetask intensive jobs harder under a more generous unemployment policy.
