The study was conducted on 1,872 working adults (936 males and 936 females) who were asked how they had balanced the three activities of schoolwork, club or other extracurricular activities, and part-time jobs when they were students and were asked to select one of nine options of balancing styles that combined these three activities. As for the \u201cabilities acquired through balancing activities,\u201d they were also asked to select one ability they acquired most from 15 options prepared in advance. The most common answer for \u201cabilities acquired through balancing activities\u201d was \u201csense of responsibility\u201d and logistic regression analyses revealed significant relationship to \u201cgender\u201d (more significant in female than male) and \u201cengagement with part-time jobs\u201d (more significant in those who worked hard on part-time jobs than those who did not.) The second most common answer was \u201ctime management\u201d with which \u201cschool work group\u201d and the \u201cpart-time jobs group\u201d showed significant positive relations. That is, it is speculated that school work and part-time job have a stimulatory influence on \u201ceffective use of time. In particular, the odds ratio for the part-time group was over 2, which is relatively high. Next, looking at the results by group, the \u201cpart-time jobs group\u201d had a higher selection rate than the other groups for \u201cability to keep a calm mind\u201d as well as \u201csense of responsibility\u201d and \u201ctime management.\u201d In the \u201cclub or other extracurricular activities group,\u201d the selection rate of \u201cpassion and vitality\u201d was higher than that of \u201ctime management,\u201d and the selection ranking of \u201cleadership\u201d was also higher than that in the other two groups. These results indicated that each of the activities discussed in this study: school work, club or other extracurricular activities, and part-time jobs, can be related to the distinctive abilities that can be acquired because the students worked hard in the activities in the environment of university life where they must be balanced with other activities. It was also speculated that the more one strives to \u201cbalance\u201d multiple activities they take on, the more one\u2019s abilities acquired become comprehensive.
