It compares the three largest regions in Russia, namely Far East, Siberia and Central Region, The study is based upon results of questionnaires completed by Russian students learning Japanese at the three largest universities in these three regions. The questionnaire consists of three parts: personal data, questions related to Japanese language learning and Japanese contacts, and a section concerning stereotypes of Russian and Japanese people. The latter is divided into three sub-sections: on behavioral patterns, general stereotypes and view of future relationship between three Russian regions and Japan. The questions regarding behavior patterns ask respondents to identify probable behavior by Russian and Japanese people in each different situation, there were designed to investigate respondents' views on the two groups' understanding following laws and interpersonal relations, group loyalty, interrelation between private and public, work style and perceptions of international business development. The final group of questions summarizes respondents' opinions on general stereotypes and represents a view of the future development of Russian-Japanese relations.
