内容記述 | This paper is a literature review that aims to clarify the characteristics of college socialization that differ from primary and secondary education, including an analysis of the factors which influence students’ anticipatory socialization. This analysis shows that college socialization is influenced by past socialization. It describes how anticipatory socialization is necessary to prepare students for entrance to the work world, and that college charters such as the academic lineage of a college or department, as well as the college social hierarchy, influences anticipatory socialization. To date, most research on college charters has been conducted on colleges where graduating from a college provides the privileges associated with a specific job; there has been little research conducted on departments with lower relevance to occupational prestige, such as with the humanities and social sciences departments, or with colleges of less prestige. This paper points out the necessity of clarifying the type of socialization that occurs in colleges that do not have a specific charter. | |||||||||
