Previous studies have shown that collaboration with external organizations is an important factor that promotes radical innovation. Using a questionnaire survey targeting manufacturing firms in Aichi Prefecture, we investigate the effect of collaboration with external organizations at the research and development stage on realization of highlevel innovation. We show that collaboration with other organization is a significant method for realizing high-level innovation in Aichi Prefecture as well.
