National universities have human and facility resources for holding these courses which participants can gain experiences of sport and recreation. Most of the universities in Japan have official athletic department that is named 'TAIIKUKAI'. 'TAIIKU-KAI' integrates many sport clubs that are basketball club, baseball club, swimming club, judo club and so on. 'TAIIKU-KAI' has 45 sports clubs in Nagoya University. 'TAIIKU-KAI' takes first preference to use the sport facilities and reserves over 90% in extracurricular time. Historical point of view, the sport clubs that belonging to 'TAIIKU-KAI' were organized for the intercollegiate athletics by undergraduate student. As a result most of the club members are undergraduate students. At the present time Nagoya University is composed of 10,882 undergraduate students, 5,697 graduate students, 3,464 faculty and administrative staffs and 1,050 foreign students. There are a little time frame that university member can use the sport facility. While this study reported the needs for sporting activity among children who live near the university.
