He inserts in his view a further objection against the definitions of prior absence (prāgabhāva) and posterior absence (pradhvansābhāva) by Nyāya, and overcomes it with his final definitions. His conclusion consists in two points: (1) absence is an entity which enables expressions about negation, and (2) the four varieties of absence can be defined correctly. In order to establish absence as an entity, Śaśadhara also searches for each ground for using the words (pravRttinimitta) “absence” and “existent thing” (bhāva): the state of being a relatum of being-ness (sattāsambandhitva) and the constant absence of the state of being a relatum of being-ness (sattāsambandhitvātyantābhāva) respectively. I would like to again emphasize that all the Prābhākaras’ objections referred to in the previous and present installments do not necessarily represent the genuine views of the Prabhākara school.}, pages = {189--210}, title = {初期新ニヤーヤ学派シャシャダラの非存在論(2) : 『ニヤーヤ・シッダーンタ・ディーパ』におけるシャシャダラの確定説}, volume = {6}, year = {2023} }
