The main idea of this work is to foreground the contrast between Apollo, who emits a heat ray, and Daphne, the moisture that escapes in the form of vapor. The anachronic superimposition of Apollo’s passionate gaze on the path of Cupid’s lead arrow suggests the narrative content of Apollo’s pursuit of Daphne and Daphne’s refusal of Apollo, while at the same time evoking the naturalistic theme of Daphne, the vapor that escapes from the heat. In that Apollo and Daphne visualizes the mechanism of the ascent of water vapor, it can be said to contrast with Orion, which visualizes the mechanism of the descent of water vapor.}, pages = {331--340}, title = {プッサン作《ダフネに恋するアポロ》とレオーネ・エブレオの『愛の対話』}, volume = {6}, year = {2023} }
