The subject was a male pupil of 13 years old. Three kinds of walking were performed for one year ; the teacher holding both hands of subject while walking, with and without a weight of 2kg, and thirdly the subject holding a rope with both hands which was grasped and controlled by the teacher during walking. Heart rate during training was recorded by using heart rate memory apparatus. Walking time and heart rate were measured over the same training course before and after training. It was found in this study that the pattern of heart rate response to walking training was almost the same before and after training. However, walking time over the course decreased gradually during the training period. In particular decrements in walking time were noticeable after training was performed using the weight and the rope. From these results, it was suggested that improvement of walking ability after training might be due to an increment in muscle strength of the leg and/or balance ability gained by use of weight or rope.}, pages = {11--18}, title = {脳性まひによる重度心身障害児の歩行訓練について(第2報)}, volume = {13}, year = {1990} }
