The mean value of physical activities in daily life measured by the pedometer was about 6400 steps per day. One third of them participated in some form of exercise regularly, and the others were sedentary. Especially the subjects who took exercises regularly more than twice a week had a higher fitness level than the others. Aerobic power significantly correlated with daily physical activities estimated by the pedometer scores.
