We believe that the mentally retarded truly continue to grow as a human being, even though the degree of retardation is so severe. And we have always been thinking how careful and kind treatment for education could support their real development. Along to the clear orientation that the development for the human being must be conceived as inner development which are brought forth only through the mutual relationship between the one person and the other person, we have tried to deepen our experience of contacting with the severely mentally retarded, and to clarify the aspects and the meaning of their development.
